This pendant lamp by Casa Padrino is built from five staggered rings. Slim vertical metal slats hang closely side by side from each ring, and every tier is smaller than the one above until the last forms only a narrow cylinder.

The effect comes from the interplay of light and shadow: the bulbs sit inside, the light escapes through the narrow gaps between the slats and lays a finely striped wreath of light onto wall and ceiling. Straight down the light falls in a focused beam through the open centre.

The golden surface is kept matt and only catches the light at the edges. Despite its size the lamp therefore stays calm, it does not dominate the room but sets a warm focal point.

At 60 cm in diameter it is cut out for the dining table, the kitchen island or the stairwell. The chain allows the drop height to be matched to the ceiling, and at 7.3 kg installation stays straightforward.
